About Us
Established in 1999, Jumbo Kids Theatre is Hong Kong’s most representative professional children's theatre company. Since 2001, the Theatre has been a long-term recipient of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council’s annual grant. In recognition of its outstanding contributions to arts education, the Theatre was honored with the "Children's Theatre Promotion Award" by the Hong Kong Federation of Drama Societies in 2010. Furthermore, it received the "Most Popular Student Work Experience Activity Award" under the Education Bureau’s "Business-School Partnership Programme" in 2025, underscoring its profound influence on arts popularization.
The Theatre is deeply rooted in community and venue development. From 2018 to 2026, it served as a Venue Partner of the Ngau Chi Wan Civic Centre, and since 2019, it has been stationed at the Tai Po Arts Centre. These roles empower the Theatre to actively pursue its long-term vision of "establishing a dedicated children’s theatre for Hong Kong families," providing high-quality theatrical experiences for local children and their parents.
In terms of artistic achievement, the Theatre celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2024 with the original musical "Toasty’s Graffiti Singing Adventure", which garnered five nominations at "The 33rd Hong Kong Drama Awards" and won two major accolades: Best Actress in a Musical and Best Supporting Actress in a Musical. Building on this success, the 2025 original musical "Little Star and the Great Prairie" received three prestigious nominations at "The 34th Hong Kong Drama Awards", including Best Choreography, Best Lyrics, and Best Original Score (Musical).
The Theatre is composed of seasoned professionals from the drama and education sectors with extensive experience in performance and program planning. Driven by passion and perseverance, the team produces high-quality, educational repertoires. Over the years, the Theatre has collaborated with various institutions to present school tours, family activities, workshops, and public performances, earning high acclaim from all sectors.
Beyond entertainment, Jumbo Kids Theatre aims to inspire children through drama, enriching their lives and allowing adults to rediscover their long-lost sense of wonder. Since its inception, the Theatre has focused on original creations, developing the signature "Toasty Series" featuring a unique "half-mask" performance style. It also champions literacy through its "Children’s Literature Series," striving to deepen the cultural literacy of the next generation and cultivate a discerning audience of critical thinkers.

The mascots of Jumbo Kids Theatre are the half-mask characters – Toasty, Ah Lam, Ah Lui, 2 in 1, Little-star, Ming, Cousin Wai, Smiley and Nam Nam. They not only represent our passion and perseverance, but also bring joy and reflections for both children and adult. Our new series of performance are "Children's Literature Series" and “Early Childhood Theatrical Production” which aim to foster parent-child reading and provides theatrical experience to children in early-childhood.
For the past 26 years, Jumbo Kids Theatre have reached 1,415,000 audiences.

Our Dream is to Dream the impossible Dream!
